Greg Anderson – Team President
A native of Lakeland, Florida, Greg Anderson is the team president for the San Diego Strike Force of the Indoor Football League.
Anderson is a former collegiate wide receiver at Alabama State University who graduated in 1982 with a degree in human services. He signed with the New York Giants as a free agent in 1982 and went on to play in the United States Football League (USFL) for the Birmingham Stallions, Pittsburgh Maulers and Arizona Outlaws. In 1986, Anderson re-signed with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns until a neck injury curtailed his career in 1987.
In 1991, Anderson got his first taste of the administrative side of football when he spent three years as general manager of the Lakeland (Fla.) Cowboys minor professional football team. In 1998, he took a job as the director of football operations for the Mobile Admirals of the Regional Football League and in 1999, he was named the director of player personnel for the Los Angeles Dragons of the Spring Football League.
In 2000, Anderson transitioned into coaching as he took his football pedigree across the Atlantic to Europe. From 2000-01, he served as the head coach for the European Association of American Football’s Northern Lights team in Oulu, Finland. In 2002, he became the offensive coordinator for the Assindia Cardinals of the German Football League in Essen, Germany.
In 2003, Anderson moved to Italy where he coached for the Italian National Football Team before taking over as the defensive coordinator for the Serie A champion Bergamo Lions of the National Football League Italy in 2004.
Anderson spent 2005 as the head coach and defensive coordinator for the Danube Dragons Wien of the Austrian American Football League and 2006 as the head coach and offensive coordinator for the Dublin Marshals of the Irish American Football League before returning to Italy to coach in the Italian American Football League. Over the course of the next five seasons, he spent 2007 as the head coach and offensive coordinator for the Grosseto Longhorns, 2007-08 as the defensive coordinator for the Roma Marines and 2009-10 in the same capacity with the Roma Grizzlies, who won an arena title in 2009.
In 2012, Anderson took his coaching talents to Slovakia where he spent four seasons (2012-15) as the head coach and offensive coordinator for the Trnava Bulldogs of the Slovak-Czech American Football League. Then from 2016-18, Anderson served as offensive coordinator for the AFC Rangers of the Austrian American Football League before returning to the States to take over as the president for the San Diego Strike Force.
