Strike Force Record Largest Victory in Team History as They Beat the Panthers 66-26

With the support of their home crowd, the San Diego Strike Force earned their third win of the season Saturday against the Bay Area Panthers in spectacular fashion. San Diego put together a fantastic game plan for this matchup and then executed it by dominating the Panthers 66-26!

After a defensive goal-line stand on the Panthers' opening drive, Strike Force immediately took advantage and drove down the field ending in the first touchdown of the game on a 23-yard strike from Jorge Reyna to Davonte Sapp-Lynch to put Strike Force in the lead.

To open up the 2nd quarter, Jorge Reyna was able to punch it again into the end zone for the touchdown, using his legs on the 6-yard scramble. This put San Diego back in the lead up 14-7 on the visiting Panthers.

Following a retaliation score from the Panthers, Strike Force got a big return from Davonte Sapp-Lynch, and two plays later, Jorge Reyna hit Amechie Walker for the Touchdown strike from 15-yards out to put up Strike Force 20-13 with 5 minutes left in the first half.

With one minute left in the half, Jorge Reyna hit Marques Rodgers on a big play for 22-yards to midfield putting Strike Force in an excellent position to score. Two plays later, Jorge Reyna went back to Marque Rodgers for a 19-yard Touchdown with only 8 seconds remaining in the half.

However, Strike Force wasn't done scoring in the half. Strike Force took advantage of every play down the stretch of the first half and Davonte Sapp-Lynch forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and ran it back to the house to give Strike Force another touchdown as the clock expired at the end of the first half with San Diego leading 32-13.

To open up the 2nd half, Strike Force immediately scored on the first play from scrimmage with Davonte Sapp-Lynch doing it all on a 22-yard rushing touchdown to put San Diego up 38-13.

After a score by the Panthers, Ishmael Adams had a great kickoff return by to the opponent's 15-yard line. Jorge Reyna threw another dart  for a 15-yard touchdown to Amechie Walker.

San Diego's defense was also playing its part in the blowout win with EJ Johnson stepping in front of a pass in the end zone snagging an interception. The momentum from this tremendous defensive play carried over to the offense as Jorge Reyna let it fly for Marques Rodgers as he hauled in a massive touchdown reception for 35-yards!

To open up the 4th quarter, Jorge Reyna kept letting it fly as he hit Kris Lewis for an 11-yard touchdown. After a non-productive drive by the Panthers, Jorge Reyna hit Patrick Jean-Charles for a 3-yard touchdown to open up Strike Force's lead even further up to 66-26 and giving Jorge Reyna an 8 Touchdown game with 7 through the air and 1 on the ground.

On defense, it was a really outstanding game for Daquan "Cheetah" Brown who had 13 total tackles with 7 being solo tackles and 1 tackle for a loss. This combined interceptions by EJ Johnson and David Haney, the Panthers offense had a difficult time getting off the ground in this game.

Strike Force's consistent and relentless defense paired with an electric offense with Jorge Reyna at the helm lead to the dominant win over the Bay Area Panthers 66-26. With this win Strike Force improves to 3-10 on the season and evens the season series with the Bay Area Panthers at 1-1. The team will look to have a repeat performance at home and get revenge against the Tucson Sugar Skulls next Saturday at 6:05 pm. Get your tickets today here on our website.
