The San Diego Strike Force have re-signed third-year linebacker DJ Morgan to their 2024 Indoor Football League roster.
Morgan was a late signee by the Strike Force in 2022 but made the most of his time on the field as he recorded 21 total tackles (3 TFL), five pass breakups, an interception, and a forced fumble in 6 games.
In 2023, Morgan picked up where he left off. While serving as one of the team’s captains, as elected by his teammates and coaches, he went on to see action in 15 games while recording a team-high and San Diego franchise single-season record 69 total tackles (ranked 11th in the IFL).
During his prep career, DJ was a two-year starter at Saint John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California. He helped lead his team to a 13-1 record, a consensus top-10 ranking, and the CIF Open Division Championship in 2015. He racked up 161 total tackles (107 solo) in his final two seasons.
He went on to the University of Notre Dame as a defensive back. After graduating from Notre Dame in three years with a Bachelor’s in Anthropology, he went on as a graduate transfer to the University of Connecticut where he earned his Master’s in Sports Management. On the field, he racked up 67 tackles, three pass breakups, two sacks, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries for the Huskies.
